Our design department offers architects and developers tailor-made rooftop projects – from idea and concept to execution.

Together, we realize aesthetic rooftop solutions that enhance both buildings and their surroundings.

Green Roofs of the Future

We create and develop the next generation of sustainable, living rooftop landscapes for recreation, food production, and increased biodiversity.

Mattak designs and builds site-specific green roofs with specially developed systems for low maintenance and long lifespan.

projects

Sundt

The iconic Sundt Department Store was designed by Per Grieg in a functionalist style. For us, it has been important to preserve the original architectural expression.

BIOTOPE ROOF

For BARA Eiendom at Kronstad in Bergen, we have developed a nature-inspired rooftop garden on top of the new Link building.

Buen

Yes, nature, recreation, and vegetable cultivation are indeed possible on rooftops in Bergen.

Rooftop Garden on Fenderen

We are well underway with establishing a new rooftop in a business cluster located in a former shipbuilding area.

NHH- Transforming black roofscapes into vibrant green biotopes

As part of a strategic sustainability initiative, we conducted a feasibility study for the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) exploring how their existing rooftops can be transformed into productive and inviting landscapes – combining vegetation, solar panels, food cultivation, and social spaces.
